Welcome to our Lymphatic Drainage Massage Course. You are about to embark on a holistic journey that will stimulate the most powerful system in our bodies, by cleansing, detoxing and removing the wastes from the human body.
In our course, students will learn specific, specialised techniques and the principles on performing a lymphatic drainage massage. This treatment encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body.
Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle manual technique that stimulates a malfunctioning or fatigued lymphatic system. Keeping the lymphatic system in good condition is imperative for promoting good health.
Our Lymphatic Drainage Massage Course starts with theory covering all aspects of LMD followed by a extensive day of practical hands on training, Students will be instructed to learn the step by step massage sequence that is essential to complete the massaging course.
What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage ?
Lymphatic Massage is commonly referred as Lymphatic Drainage which is a specialized massage type that gently assists the lymphatic system in maintaining the body’s fluid balance, blood circulation, and immune mechanisms. This involves a gentle rhythmic massage treatment and movement of the hands which pushes fluid towards the lymph nodes. Once fluid reaches the nodes, it can be transported elsewhere in the body, using the lymphatic drainage system. This can assist the body’s natural ability to remove any build-up of toxins.
The system’s network of vessels and nodes contains lymph, a mixture of water, proteins, immune system components, waste products, and other remnants of cell metabolism.
How do lymphatic drainage massages actually work?
Said to help the lymphatic system do its job, lymphatic drainage massage allegedly helps to speed up
the removal of waste and toxins from the body.
Pressure-wise, it’s much lower in intensity and follows a particular stroke pattern to generate its results, with the first stroke being done to stretch the skin, while the second, more directional stroke is performed to send lymphatic fluid towards the nearby lymph nodes.
While most people are eligible for lymphatic drainage massage, those who experience any of the following are generally advised to avoid it and speak to a doctor first:
- An infection or inflammation in the swollen area
- A blood clot
- Heart problems
- Cancer in the area

COURSE RECOGNITION
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is designed to equip you with both theoretical and practical skills enabling you to work as a professional therapist in massage therapy. The course is approved by and recognised by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), of which Le Spa Massage Academy is a Platinum Training Provider. Once you have graduated with your Professional Certificate in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, you are eligible to join IICT and gain professional membership which offers members with various advantages. Our training is also approved by MAA (Massage Association of Australia)
Accreditation
A Professional Certificate is gained at the end of the Course.
The CPE/CPD awarded can differ between associations, please contact your association for specific details. Points can be awarded for hours of training or for days of training.
Assessments:
Le Spa Massage Academy will conduct assessments towards the end if the course. Upon successful completion the students will receive their corticates.
Entry Requirement:
- 36hrs face-to-face
- Pre-requisite qualification in Whole Body Massage
The aim of our signature Lymphatic Massage Course is to introduce and educate qualified Massage Therapists, Dip. Beauty Therapist and other fully qualified body workers. All students must have a previous qualification in Whole Body Massage.
The attendees are required to have at least studied Whole Body Massage therapy. For example Le Spa Whole Body Massage Course, or Cert IV.
