Founded by an Australian migrant, Le Spa Massage Academy aims to connect and help similar migrants raise their employability and self-sufficiency through affordable, short but qualified training courses.
Kim, the founder of LSMA was raised in a small rural district of Viet Nam in the 1980’s where her interest in massage was nurtured. In 2002, she started to work as an intern and later became a massage therapist and beautician at Six Senses Spa Evason Ana Mandara 5 Star Resort, Nha Trang, Vietnam.
In her career, she also worked at Six Senses Spa Puntacana Resort and Club in Punta Cana Dominican Republic as a spa therapist and later as a spa trainer.
After working in the Dominican Republic, she continued her profession as a spa director at Airways Hotel in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. About a decade later she returned back to her hometown to help set up a new spa at Novotel Hotel, Nha Trang, Vietnam; where she worked as a spa and gym manager and also served as a hotel duty manager.
Subsequently, she was invited to become a spa consultant and manager at the new Grand Mercure, Danang, Vietnam and her duty was to set up a newly opened spa as well as to recruit and train an entire team who had little experiences in this field.
As a result, Kim is a highly skilled massage and beauty therapist, spa trainer and spa manager with experience in the hospitality industry; working internationally in hotel and resort spas in countries including Vietnam, Dominican Republic, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
With the ability to facilitate business growth, develop a rapport with both guests and staff from different cultures; Kim is committed to both personal and professional development.
Kim moved to Australia in 2014 bringing with her qualifications in Vietnamese Massage and a Diploma in Sodashi therapy. She also has qualifications in Thai massage, Diploma of Spa therapies, treatment & Procedures and obtained Spa management and Spa development certificates in Thailand.
In Australia, Kim has also completed a Diploma in Whole Body Massage, a certificate in Anesi Skincare & Body Treatment Product Knowledge, a Certificate in First Aid, a dual Diploma in Business Management and Marketing and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment whilst working part-time as a massage therapist in spas and providing services to customers as a contracted part-time therapist. Her qualifications enable her to offer services as a qualified trainer.
With great interest in helping people in the community, Kim has been a volunteer supporting Red Cross Retail Outlets and tutor at TAFE in the Adult Migrant English Programs (AMEP).
After almost two decades, she now looks forward to utilising the skills, experience and knowledge that she has developed to pass on her passion to future massage therapists.
